Nike Cross regionals (NXR) is a post season cross country meet where schools from across various regions in the United States compete for the opportunity to go to the national meet. the NXR meet is designed for all running abilities, offering a middle school division, multiple heats in the high school division and a championship race for most competitive schools and individual runners.
In 2023, Glacier sent a team to compete in the Northwest regional meet at Eagle Island XC course in Boise ID. The men’s and women’s team competed against some of the top cross county teams from Montana, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, Wyoming, and Alaska. Competing in the meet not only exposes Glacier athletes to a higher level of competition. It fosters new connections with other runners from neighboring states and inspires athletes to rise up and work harder with hopes of shining as top runner from their state and also a chance to compete in the national championship.
NXR is an out of season competition and does not receives school funding for travel and race expenses. Athletes and coaches have to provide the finances for this race; this can become a limiting factor for how many student athletes are able to make the trip to compete. Wolf Pack Athletics will use its available financial recourses to help lower the cost to compete for students and their families, with the goal to fully cover all expenses and make it free for any athlete who wishes to compete in this post season meet.
